CORE Organic – Coordination of European Transnational Research in Organic Food and Farming Systems

CORE Organic is an ERA-NET - a network of national ministries and research councils in Europe funding research in organic food systems. Already since 2004, the members of CORE Organic join forces and fund transnational research projects covering the most important challenges along the organic value chains.

Public European research and development effort in organic food and farming is characterized by small research communities, often scattered and fragmented both geographically and institutionally. This generates a need for gathering the dispersed expertise into a critical mass. The overall objective of CORE Organic is, therefore, to enhance quality, relevance and use of resources in research in organic food and farming and to establish a joint budget pool for financing transnational research in organic food and farming at European level.

CORE Organic receives funding from the European Union, Horizon 2020.
