La somministrazione di basse dosi di alghe ai suinetti può influire positivamente sulla salute dell'intestino e ridurre la diarrea. Fornirà anche diversi minerali.
I polisaccaridi delle alghe possono avere effetti antimicrobici, prebiotici o immunomodulatori, alleviando gli effetti negativi legati allo svezzamento.

This practice abstract was elaborated in the Organic Knowledge Network on Monogastric Animal Feed project. The project is running from January 2018 to December 2020.
