The organic approach to plant health - webinar

16 November from 10:30-12:00 CET, online, learn about how organic agriculture can lead the way to a 50% reduction in pesticide use and risks!

IFOAM Organics Europe and Member of the European Parliament Eric Andrieu (S&D group) are glad to invite you to their co-organised webinar on the organic approach to plant health, taking place on 16 November from 10:30-12:00 CET, online. Register now to discuss with us how organic agriculture and its unique approach to plant health can lead the way to a 50% reduction in pesticide use and risks.

What are the challenges to implement and develop the organic approach to plant health and how can EU policies support its development to achieve a 50% reduction in the use and risks of pesticides by 2030?

These questions will guide the discussion during this webinar, which comes at a perfect time as the European Commission is finalising its proposal for a revised Sustainable Use of pesticides Directive (SUD). According to the Farm to Fork strategy, this will be one of the main tools to reach the target on pesticide reduction.

Structure of the webinar

  • 10:30-11:00 CET: Presentations of the plant health care strategy in organic agriculture and the role of natural substances in this biodiversity-based system approach.
  • 11:00-12:00 CET: Panel discussion to discuss the challenges to implement and develop the organic approach to plant health and how can EU policies support its development to achieve a 50% reduction in the use and risks of pesticides by 2030.

Simultaneous interpretation in English and French will be available.
