Animal welfare

Animal welfare

Animal well-being is the basis for good animal health, as well as farm economics. The general ethical principles of organic animal husbandry, according to IFOAM – Organics International, are:

  • Allowing animals to display their natural behaviour
  • Welfare before productivity
  • Preserving the health of animals' environment
  • A systemic approach to controlling and preventing disease
  • Painful routine management practices and mutilations are banned

Here you find tools which aid in improving the animal welfare.
