Happy second EU Organic Day - 23 September

It is time to celebrate! Today marks the 2nd edition of the ‘’EU Organic Day”. We're proud to toast the sector's growth, from a niche market to an officially acknowledged part of the solution.

What is EU Organic Day?

The EU Organic Day was developed out of the ‘’Action Plan for the development of organic production’’, adopted by the Commission on 25 March 2021, with the aim to raise awareness of the characteristics and benefits of organic production. While the focus of the Action Plan lies primarily on the side of consumers, with the goal to ‘’bring organic food closer to citizens’’, Organic Farm Knowledge wants to use this moment to especially thank all organic operators and producers. Through your hard work and support, we can collectively strive toward a more organic, healthy and fair future.

What role do we play in it?

Organic Farm Knowledge believes in the power of collaboration and shared knowledge, which is why this Platform has been created. We think it is essential to improve the flow of information between scientists, farmers, and advisors in supporting farmers. Thus, the platform’s toolbox gathers over 600 tools: practical, easy-to-use and free factsheets, guides, online calculation tools, videos and more, presenting scientifically-tested practical knowledge. Moreover, the platform offers the possibility to comment and ask questions and serves as a virtual meeting place for cross-border knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning among farmers and farm advisors.

As a transnational network, we will continue to put all our energy into further connecting the diverse actors within the European organic movement and supporting the goal of 25% organic land by 2030.

Let’s celebrate organic!
