Weeding is one of the main factors of economic success in organic agriculture. Hoeing techniques have become increasingly efficient and precise over the last years. Modern computerized weed control technology playes an important role in improving weed control. This video presents seven different machines and their approaches to removing weed (weeding between and in the rows; working row-indepently) as well as their unique features.
The video, shot at the 6th Organic Arable Farming Day in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland, was provided by the EU funded project Legumes Translated, which supports the production and use of grain legumes in Europe.
