Alimentación y nutrición

Las regulaciones orgánicas europeas exigen un alimento 100% orgánico, con un 20% producido en la granja, en el caso de animales monogástricos. La alimentación tiene un impacto directo en la productividad y, por lo tanto, en la rentabilidad, la salud de los animales y la calidad del producto.

La producción o compra de piensos suele representar más del 50 % de los costes de la producción ecológica monogástrica. Por lo tanto, el cultivo y la fabricación de piensos en las explotaciones agrícolas puede ser una forma importante de reducir los costes para los agricultores. El diseño de las raciones de los piensos ecológicos no sólo tiene en cuenta criterios económicos, sino también ecológicos y éticos. Por lo tanto, difiere del enfoque convencional y debe estar especialmente diseñado para condiciones ecológicas.

Para producir un pienso adecuado, los agricultores deben:

  • Conocer el valor nutricional de los piensos ecológicos
  • Conocer las necesidades de los animales
  • Calcular el equilibrio nutricional entre los alimentos para proporcionar una dieta que satisfaga las necesidades de los animales.

Las bases de datos y las herramientas de cálculo pueden proporcionar información y servicios muy importantes para ayudar a los agricultores a conseguirlo.
